Aubrey hated certain days of the year. This was one of them. It was the anniversary of his father’s death. He hated today. He felt more guilt than he had ever felt before, today. He felt the need to go around and destroy things, but he knew he couldn’t. He knew he couldn’t deal with himself if he went around just destroying things and screwing with everybody’s lives. This was partly the reason the boy spent the day in the cemetery. No one ever came to the cemetery, and he was alone for usually the whole day. Aubrey liked being alone though, he didn’t mind it. He let his mind wander and contort into many different things when he was left alone, and usually, usually he could get through them. Usually he knew how to deal with everything he felt…but today…today was different. Today was a day where he couldn’t deal with anything, and so he hid. He found flowers to put on his father’s grave. They were roses decorated with lilies all around. It was a pretty bouquet, and Aubrey was proud of himself for finding them.
He had become accustomed to finding everything for himself. He had looked for days and days for these flowers, and he had found them on about the third day. He had looked and searched through the woods…and he had put so much effort into it…but it was all for not. At the end of the day, Aubrey always wound up destroying the flowers and burning them. Today was a gross day though. The sky was grey with rain and thunder gently riddled through the clouds. Aubrey let an almost animalistic growl escape through his lips as rain gently began to fall down. He let his tears mix with the water as it fell into the vase placed amongst his father’s grave with the flowers inside it. Aubrey let his right hand stroll out as a weak gravity cluster emerged from his palm. He growled before it was let out and hit into a nearby tree, denting it.
“W-why…y-you should have just killed me…y-you should have let me die…” Aubrey didn’t know why he was talking. He imagined it was to keep himself from sobbing, but he couldn’t do it anymore. His right hand strolled out and he gently took hold of it with his left. A soft, gentle sob raked through his figure before he shut his eyes tight.
He would destroy everything this year.
He would send it all back into the earth where it came from.

[glow=blue,2,300]6:12 p.m. Hawthorne Cemetary[/glow]
It was after school one afternoon and Tyler had nothing but time to lose. He didn't have martial arts that afternoon, and he wasn't ready to go home and sit in his room alone for the remainder of the disgustingly damp day. It had been raining since he woke up, and the clouds were so dull and droopy. He hated feeling down like he was, so he decided to take a walk, even though the weather was shunning him away.
Walking often helped the teenage boy think. He thought about school, people, his parents, and life. There wasn't anything he didn't think about, except her, the one that he would refuse to think about, and that simply got pushed into the back of his mind. If he did think about her, there was no telling what would happen. He was bound to lose his temper, punch a wall, break his fist. It had happened before. Five times before. And every time he went to his mother with bleeding knuckles, she would put her hand on his back and remind him to take his medication next time. It was nothing new. Being bipolar wasn't a pleasant experience. Sometimes he would lose his temper without even thinking about it. Which is why as he walked and thought, he tried to keep his mind as empty as possible.
He passed the town cemetary and stopped. The rain was flattening his dark hair, causing it to fall over his eyes. The cemetary was such a sad place to be, walking among the dead. But for some reason, he wanted to.
Tyler walked into the large iron gates and glanced around. There were hundreds of gravestones and he had no idea which way to walk, so he just started off in a random direction. The cold chill of realizing he was walking through a cemetary made him slightly uneasy. At the same time, it was adventurous, and he loved to be adventurous. Finally, the teenage boy glanced up from his shoes and saw someone crouched not far ahead in front of a grave stone. It was a boy, and through the rain he could see that he had ears and a tail. A small glisten gleamed off of the boy's cat ear. It was Aubrey.
He hadn't seen Aubrey since that night that he saved him from being hurt. He had taken off the next morning, and he had no idea what happened to him after that. It was good to know that the NEKO was still alive. But why was he in a cemetary? And talking to himself?
"You know..." Tyler's australian accent called through the steady rain. "Talking to yourself is one of the first signs of going crazy." He smiled and walked up beside Aubrey, crouching down beside him.

Aubrey let out a growl as he stood in front of the gravestone. He hated his father. He despised him with every single fiber of his being, and he wanted to destroy it. He wanted to crush the stone into dust. He wanted to obliterate it into nothing. But he knew he couldn’t. He knew that he couldn’t crush the stone without bringing attention to himself. But there were still tears. There was still anger. Fear. It was all still there, and the boy didn’t know what to do with it. That was when he decided. That was when he knew he had to destroy the stone, when he knew he had to stop it from ever existing again. His eyes opened for just a short moment; just long enough to see the bright light ripping through the air for a short moment. The stone began to crack and crumble, before suddenly there was a voice.
Aubrey stopped in his tracks. His eyes widened a little at the voice, before the stone stopped crumbling and the boy’s arms fell to his side. He sighed, letting his hair fall in front of his face delicately as the rain plastered it to his cheeks. He didn’t look at the boy. He couldn’t look at the boy. He let his mouth open to speak, but nothing came out. It was hard to speak whenever Tyler was around. He didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know how to act. There was always that nagging voice in the back of his mind. The voice that told him to make the boy hate him. The voice that told him to hurt him, to attack him; to do whatever he could to make the boy hate him, but he couldn’t do that. No matter how hard Aubrey tried, he could not fathom the idea of Tyler hating him. He couldn’t stand knowing that the boy hated him; it would tear him to pieces and he knew it.
But there was nothing he could do today. His emotions were running rampant, and he was in the foulest of moods. He growled lightly under his breath, spitting out his words with unintentional venom.
“J-just go a-away.” Even though it was filled with venom, it was still shaky and sad. He turned away, letting his left palm stroll out as he released a gravity bullet and shattering the vase and setting the flowers on fire. He began to walk away from the boy, tears streaming down his cheeks, shoulder trembling as he hid beneath his hair, beneath the mask of the rain.
Because when you hid behind rain.
It was hard to see you cry.

Tyler expected the boy to seem a little happier to see him, but he didn't say anything. It seemed like Aubrey was going through unsaid emotions at the time. He looked like he was crying, and as much as Tyler wanted to help him, he had a nagging feeling that he couldn't. He was even more surprised when Aubrey snapped at him. He hadn't heard him speak like that before, telling him to leave him alone and go away. Tyler frowned, standing up as Aubrey turned away and pointed his hand at the vase of flowers upon a gravestone. The vase shattered, and the flowers caught fire. He felt the warmth radiating from the side and turned back to look at the smaller boy. He was confused.
He walked after Aubrey, abandoning the broken vase and burning flowers behind them both. "Wait, Aubrey." He walked past a few gravestones and stopped directly behind the smaller boy, putting his hand on his shoulder lightly. "What's wrong? Why are you out here in the rain?" Aubrey probably wouldn't tell him, but it was worth a shot. He was concerned for him. It was obvious that the shadow NEKO was upset about something, and he could almost see the tearstreaks on his pale cheeks.
Still, Tyler kept a slight distance between them. He didn't want Aubrey to lash out at him. "You don't have to tell me." he said softly. "But if you need a place to go, you know my door is open."

Aubrey didn’t want to deal with any of this. He didn’t want to know what it felt like to kill your dad, and yet…yet he still did. He knew exactly what it was like to crush him into nothing but mere dust and gravel beneath your fingertips. He felt more tears threatening to stream out and down his eyes…and that was when he knew he had to be mean. He knew he had to lash out…but at who…at what. He could lash out at Tyler…but he didn’t want to…he didn’t want to do anything to the boy. He didn’t know what to do though…and so on instinct…he couldn’t help but lash out. He flew around when he felt the boy touch him, and his hand went up into the air, and then went flying down; though…the claw that was supposed to hurt the boy…the claw that was intended to bring blood to the surface…it failed. His hand made contact with the skin of the boy’s cheek, but it was as if it were a pleading touch, not a vicious one. His shoulder shook more as he cried, head facing down, not know what to do at this point.
“J-just…j-just s-stop…” His voice was low and defeated, and if Tyler took the time to bring his head back up…he would see his eyes matched it.
“Y-you make it s-so h-hard…s-stop being n-nice…s-stop being k-kind…” His free hand grabbed at his hair lightly, his fingernails gently trailing down the boys cheek and neck, as if just tickling him. It fell and braided itself though Aubrey’s soaked locks of brown.
“Y-you don’t know…w-what it’s like…to h-hate yourself…for the t-things you feel…” It was hard to differentiate what Aubrey felt anymore. It was difficult to tell what he wanted; what he needed. Though one thing was clear to him. He needed Tyler. He needed every ounce of the boy…and there was nothing he could do anymore about it. His tail wrapped around his own torso and dabbed at the tears that began to fall harder and harder down his cheeks. All Aubrey wanted to do was hug the boy. To latch on and never let go…but he knew he could not…he knew he wasn’t allowed to. He knew that with the display of anger he had just shown…the display of ungratefulness…he would never be allowed to touch him again, and it burned. It singed him from the inside out, to the point where tears now fell…not because of his father…but because of Tyler.
Tears fell for a being he hated so much.
Only for making him feel such boundless love.

Tyler winced when he saw the boy whip around. He expected to be slashed across the face- and he wouldn't blame him. Maybe he was sticking his nose too far into the NEKO's business. After all, Aubrey was a person too, and Tyler knew he liked his privacy. Aubrey probably liked his too. But as Aubrey's hand came in contact with his face, it wasn't sharp claws that touched his cheek. It was his gentle soft fingers.
He immediantly felt bad. Aubrey was shaking and crying, touching his face with the softest movements and speaking in a stutter. What had gotten the boy so worked up, he wondered? It was as if Aubrey was having a mental breakdown. Instinctively, Tyler wanted to tend to the boy- wrap his arms around him, hug him and tell him that it was going to be alright. But for now, he wanted to keep his distance. Didn't want to scare him or make him untrustworthy.
Instead, the teenager spoke in a quiet, gentle tone. "Aubrey, you need to calm down." In a way, the NEKO was like him. He could lose control of his temper quickly, just like Tyler could. He was just proud that Aubrey had the self control to stop before he had cut his cheek open. "I can tell that you're upset but you just need to take a deep breath." Tyler's protective instinct took over, he put his hand on Aubrey's shoulder again and snuck his hand up to his head, behind one of his ears, and began to scratch the area softly, knowing that would help calm him down.
Tyler just knew these things.

It was obvious that Aubrey was upset, and he knew it. It was clear that he wasn’t happy and that something had shaken him, though he felt bad for not being able to tell Tyler. For not being able to spill everything he felt to the boy…but he knew he couldn’t. He knew he couldn’t utter a single words for the things he felt…simply because he didn’t want to scare the boy off. There was no reason to burden him with such feelings…and there was no reason to let him know that someone, a NEKO of all people- had a detrimental crush on him. It was so hard though. It was so difficult to keep his mouth from opening and letting all his feelings slip out. But Aubrey had self-control. He knew how to keep everything he felt inside himself…for the most part. Some things though, always found their way out and he didn’t know why.
He felt a small heat rush through him when the boy put his hand on Aubrey’s shoulder. It was welcomed though, because right now- right now Aubrey was cold. Inside and out, he was freezing and he knew it. He welcomed the touch…but the thing that came next…that was the scary part. He felt the boys hand move up to his ear, right in the most delicate spot, and scratch. Aubrey’s eyes widened dramatically, and he felt all his muscles unclench before his right eye shut, having to keep his left one open to stay conscious. He felt a purr emit from the utmost back part of his throat…but then…then something else…was let out. Aubrey froze in his spot, muscles tightening tighter than ever before.
Did he…? Oh no, he knew he did. He didn’t hallucinate…he couldn’t have. He was sure of it. Aubrey had let out a moan. It was a moan of sheer pleasure, and it caused his face to go bright red. He had never…never m-moaned before…it was so…so abrupt. It just sort of…came out, and he didn’t know why. All he knew was that he had to run now. He had to get out before the boy really started to hate him.
“A-ah I’m s-sorry. I-I’ll g-go n-now.” He nodded before pulling away and turning, gently walking away with haste, using the rain as his cover.
It was hard to cover up a moan.
And that was a mistake Aubrey knew he could never take back.

Aubrey was a quiet boy, but he could hear the small purr coming from the boy. He liked to make him purr. Wait, what? Did I just think that? Making someone purr wasn't really on his normal scedule. Purring wasn't exactly normal either, unless you were a NEKO. Fortunately, Aubrey was. But purring wasn't all Aubrey did, he also let out a quiet moan that was audible from Tyler's short distance.
It was obvious that the boy was embaressed. Hell, anyone would be embaressed. But Tyler knew it was only because he had touched his ear, his sensitive spot. Everyone had their sensitive spots, and Aubrey's was behind his furry little cat ears. It was cute, really. But Aubrey seemed genuinely upset with himself, pulling away and murmuring something about having to leave.
Tyler tried to pass it off like he didn't hear anything and was simply confused at the NEKO's actions. And that was no lie, he was very confused and misled by Aubrey's actions. He just wanted to help the boy, was that too much to ask? Apparently. But Tyler was determined to cheer up his feline friend. He got in the way of Aubrey's path and scooped him up in his arms, forcing him to face him. They were nose to nose as Tyler held him out in front of him, staring into his emerald eyes. "Gotcha." He was holding him under his arms, but he had a good grip on him, he wasn't going to drop him or anything. The rain was flattening their hair to their heads but it was a heartwarming sight. "I'm not going to leave you out here in the rain."

Aubrey didn’t know what to do. He had never made…such a…a revealing noise before. It was something he was not used to…hell, it was something he didn’t even know he could do. His face was about five different shades of bright red, and all he knew, was that he had to get out. He had to escape before Tyler figured out the reason behind the moan. No. He could never let that happen. He could not] allow himself to destroy this friendship, just like he destroyed all the other ones in his life. He wouldn’t allow his weakness to get the best of him this time, because it always had before, but this time he just simply would not allow it. He would never allow himself to hurt this boy, to do anything that he deemed unacceptable in front of him. Moaning? Oh my, was that unacceptable. He couldn’t even believe it had gotten the chance to escape through the back of his throat, but it had, and now Aubrey was petrified.
But Tyler didn’t seem to notice. For some odd reason, he had chased after Aubrey for a moment, and scooped him into his arms like it was nothing. Aubrey felt his face heat up more, his tears cease, and all his thoughts jumble. He was so close to the boy. He could feel his breath. He knew Tyler could feel his. He was talking, but Aubrey was having trouble hearing him. He tried to seem angry still. He kept his expression blank, but shock and embarrassment still shone through, and his tail…oh boy, did his tail tell a story that Aubrey did not want to share. His tail had gently moved around the boy once more, curling and moving over his body slowly until he reached his neck- his collarbone to be exact- and gently moved against it. Aubrey didn’t really know what was happening. He didn’t know what his body was doing. It was moving…but it was moving without Aubrey’s consent; without his permission. His hands gently moved away from his sides and found their way onto the boy’s cheeks. He cradled his face for a short moment before speaking small, shaky.
“J-just…w-want to be…h-happy…a-again,” and then Aubrey lost it. The chain binding he had on all his restraint within himself snapped and broke, and now Aubrey didn’t know what was happening at all. His face dipped in after his sentence, and with such a minor touch, as if an angel wing gliding over the skin; his lips pressed to Tyler’s. Within the second they were there, it was as if Aubrey was an open book. He was certain Tyler felt everything he felt. He was certain Tyler knew things now, that he didn’t want anyone to know. He was sure Tyler heard the screams for help he dare not utter from the deepest, most sanctioned confounds of his mind.
But in the second they were there, they were gone. His hands moved to the boy’s chest, and he neatly thrashed and pushed his way out of his arms. He didn’t know why he did that. He didn’t have an explanation, and so more tears began to fall. He muttered apologies in French. English. French. English. He was saying sorry in every language he knew how to say, before turning towards the forest, and darting. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him, before he made it to the safe-haven of wood and forest. That’s when he got on all fours, and began to run and leap. He let his body latch on to a tree as he jumped to the low branch, beginning to run on just his legs once more as he swung from branch to branch.
The tears blurred his vision and his heart ached for someone he knew he had lost, and this was why he ran. He ran to escape reality; to escape the fact that he had lost the only friend he ever had, simply because he couldn’t keep his stupid emotions in control. But there was something wrong as he ran. He jumped from about four trees, but when he got to the fifth one; something happened. His claws dug into the branch and as he hoisted himself up, there was a snap. Aubrey felt his blurred eyes widen before the branch broke, and he called out for help; he called out the only name he knew.
“T-Tyl-ler!” Before his back smashed into the ground, causing his body to arch lightly in pain as a weak whimper was let out of himself. He curled into the dirt for a moment, claws digging into it as he cried silently, trembling immensely.
He knew the boy wouldn’t come. He knew he didn’t care anymore. He knew he had lost him.
And now, Aubrey had a whole new reason to cry. Because he had lost two people that day.
He had lost the only friend he ever had.
And the only person he ever loved so much.

As soon as it happened, so many things hit him that he wasn't aware what was even happening. He was kissed. That alone was something he had sworn not to do after the last person he kissed was tragically killed. He was kissed by a boy. His parents were Christian, and always told him that boys who hold hands with little boys go to Hell. Sure, he never believed that. He wasn't even religious, and he told himself that people could do what they wanted with their life. But he never thought that he would be kissed by a boy. He was kissed by a NEKO. The last NEKO he had kissed...
Tyler was stunned as their lips met. It was just for a second, but that second was long enough to tell an entire story. Aubrey was a person just like he was, only more damaged and fragile. He had the same feelings that he did, only his were more hidden and unstable. Even if Aubrey liked Tyler, what did that kiss mean? Did he kiss back? He wasn't even sure, it happened too fast.
And then he was gone. The smaller boy had thrust himself away from Tyler, darting off into the darkness. Tyler stood in shock, staring after him and lightly touching his bottom lip. He still wasn't sure what had happened. But what's worse was that he wasn't sure that he minded it. Aubrey needed him, that much was obvious. But it hadn't occured to him that Tyler might have needed Aubrey too.
Thinking about it, he realized that as much as he hated asking for help (which is why he never once did) he needed someone to confide in. Someone to hold against him. Someone to love him. Did Aubrey love him?
Tyler didn't know whether to follow the NEKO or not. He couldn't run after him. Well he could, but what good would it do if Aubrey just ran away? And what if Aubrey just blamed himself for kissing him? Would Tyler kiss him just to prove that it wasn't a bad thing- that maybe it was alright? The teenage boy stood in the drizzling rain for another minute before deciding it was worth it to give chase to the feline-boy.
Not long after he started running he heard a loud crack of lightning, followed by a terrified yowl. "Aubrey!" he shouted loudly, running faster into the dark depths of the woods. It was scary, to be surrounded by so many thick trees and undergrowth. The storm made it impossible to see without any sunlight filtering through the branches. It was a blind chase, and he didn't even know where he was going. Sticks and twigs threatened to trip him and branches scratched at his arms as he pushed them out of the way, until he came to the broken tree limb in front of him. Aubrey was sprawled across the ground in an awkward position, and Tyler could assume what had happened before his mind could understand it.
Tyler fell to his knees beside Aubrey and lifted his head lightly, not wanting to move him in case something was broken. He feared for the boy, stroking his hair softly and leaning over him. "Aubrey, are you okay? Can you hear me? Please answer me..."
