Chapter One CREATION The First Experiment The first NEKO was created in the basement of Dr. James', one of the original Oblivion 12 members. Dr. James had a daughter who's best friend was a young boy named Conner Crowford. Six year old Connor Crowford became the first known successfully transformed child, given to Dr. James' daughter as a gift for her birthday. He wasn't the last. His blood was transfused with the blood and DNA of a common house cat, creating the genetic offspring that soon came to be known as NEKO. After further tests and experimentations, Connor Crowford died at age seven.
Scientists began to create NEKO as quickly as they could, stealing children from their families and taking them to the nationwide known NEKO MILL, located in the outskirts of Hawthorne, California. Here, children are genetically altered with chemicals and feline DNA to create a NEKO.
Age & Gender Children who are taken for the NEKO experiment are usually ages four to ten years old. The more the child is matured, the harder it is to create a good breed of NEKO. However, it is not impossible. Boys are often preffered for demand of labor work, but both genders are taken, especially if the child is exeptionally healthy.
Mutations There are cases called "Mutations" where a NEKO is given special abilities due to the chemicals they recieve at the mill. Scientists aren't sure yet why, or how to prevent it, but mutations have been seperated into a stronger category of NEKO. See "MUTATIONS" for more information.

Chapter Two OBLIVION 12 The Original Founders The original Oblivion 12 members were a group of scientists from western California who all shared the fascination of combining animal DNA with the genetics of a human being. The original founders were Dr. Lucas James, Dr. James Dixon, Dr. Maxwell Shane, Dr. Shannon Stepe, Dr. Gabriel Andrews, Dr. Nathan Steward, Dr. Charles Foxx, Dr. Samantha James, Dr. Samantha Blackwood, Dr. Christopher Chipp, Dr. Sara Davidson, and Dr. Steven Calvin.
Present Day Oblivion 12 Although the original founders have all passed away, more goverment owned scientists have taken up the NEKO experiment. Oblivion 12 is now a wide-ranged group of scientists who continue to work on the experimentation and creation of NEKO.

Chapter Three EXPERIMENTATION Daily Experimentation The daily experimentation on NEKO varies from day to day. Normal testing may include injection of chemicals, radiation, disection, or physical excertion. Some NEKO are subject to more intense experimentation, particularly ones that have been causing trouble. These might include amputation, the draining of blood, and violent thrashings to withstand pain.
Treatment NEKO have no rights, therefore are subject to verbal, physical, and sexual abuse. A NEKO recieves beatings a normal three to five times a day, unless they're under specific medical or examination care.

Chapter Four NATURE & BEHAVIOR Names Each NEKO is given a specific name upon creation or birth. This name is usually a letter and a four digit number. Scientists refer to the NEKO as this name, usually printed (or tattoo'd) somewhere upon their body. However, NEKO tend to keep their previous names from their family, or come up with names themselves.
Behavior NEKO are usually classified as timid beings. They do not argue or fight when they are being told what to do, and because of the conditions they grow up in, they usually fear the human race. However, there are cases of light-hearted NEKO that enjoy the presence of humans, and they are more likely to be adopted.
They are typically scared beings, jumpy, and sometimes bipolar.
NEKO that belong to one of the four clans have their own loyalties. They are often more protective and fierce because they have escaped the life of the NEKO mill. However, not all clan cats are violent.
Some NEKO's pain only drives them more towards revenge and violence. NEKO that act out are punished and humiliated in front of other lab subjects. If the case is serious enough, rebelious NEKO might be put to death.
Relationships Often, NEKO do not associate with other NEKO. It's hard for them to make and keep friends, and often they have severe trust issues. It isn't unheard of for NEKO to be in relationships, however these cases are usually found outside the NEKO mill, especially in the case of breeding. NEKO that reproduce do have NEKO children as an offspring.
Clan NEKO are more likely to mate and have relationships than others because they live their own lives and protect each other, in which feelings may develop.

Chapter Five MUTATIONS Thunder Mutation These mutations have the specially enhanced ability to conjure and control electricity as well as friction in the air. They have yellow or golden eyes (see above). The thunder mutation can control technology, making them a pain for scientists to deal with in laboratories. They also tend to cause power outtages when they get frustrated.
Fire Mutation These mutations are genetically enhanced to conjure and control the element of fire. They are naturally drawn to warmer environments and dislike the cold greatly, for it weakens their senses and abilities. Their unusual eye color varies from orange to red (see above). Fire mutations are perhaps the most violent and uncontrollable of the mutations.
Ice Mutation The ice mutation is most commonly found in female NEKO. They are often classified as having very light or brilliant blue eyes (see above). These mutations have the power to manipulate water and freeze it into ice, but that isn't all. They're often cold, quiet, and reserved. Sometime's they're just as cold on the inside as they are on the inside. Most ice mutations prefer to live near large bodies of water and hydrate themselves as often as possible.
Shadow Mutation The shadow mutation is the most uncommon mutation that has been discovered. The subjects have strong emotions and incredible power, but it's hard to harness. They have the power to control shadows, turn even the smallest amount of darkness into claws of their own. The rare cases of these NEKO often end in disasters and misfortune, as if the darkness is a curse of bad luck. The eye color varies anywhere from purple to black (see above).
Other Mutations Other NEKO have been said to have elemental powers such as air, light, and earth, but none of them have been strong enough to note (This does not mean these mutations are not viable when creating a character. If you wish for your character to have one of these mutations, they may, but you must state it clearly in your app). NEKO with these uncommon mutations have been known to stick together in small groups, mimicking the larger clans, and function as one entity for the sake of survival. Mutation powers, as well as the strength of their element, can also grant these unique NEKO a power that other normal NEKO do not have, and that is the power to communicate telepathically with NEKO of the same mutation. The reasons have yet to be discovered.

Chapter Six THE CLANS THUNDERCLAN The thunder clan is a group of ELECTRIC elementalist NEKO mutations that have grown from a small number to quite a substancial amount. They dominate the northern edge of the woods. Thunder clan NEKO are very protective over their territory but perhaps the most passive of the clans. They are natural born hunters, and they prefer sleeping outside with nature than indoors. (Alpha position OPEN.)
FIRECLAN The fire clan is a group of FIRE elementalist NEKO mutations who dominate the eastern part of the woods. They're very hot-headed and proud, often the most violent, but protective of each other nonetheless. They aren't afraid to take out their claws, and sometimes jump to violence as a conclusion.(Alpha- Ashlee Parker.)
ICECLAN The ice clan is a group of WATER elementalist NEKO mutations who dominate the western area of the woods. They prefer to live near water, so their territory stretches across the beaches, as well as the woods. They're rather reserved and would rather sit back and watch others fight then get their hands dirty themselves, and they're somewhat proud of themselves. Most of them don't even talk to others outside their clan unless they have to. (Alpha position OPEN.)
SHADOWCLAN The shadows clan is a group of DARK elementalist NEKO mutations who dominate the dark southern part of the woods. This is a very small, dwindling group that is often not even recognized, there isn't many of them and those that are shadow elementalists keep to themselves. However, they are known to be the most powerful when they do show their true colors. They live in the darkest parts of the woods and the abandoned parts of town. It makes them even more spooky and mysterious.(Alpha position OPEN.)

Chapter Seven THE CLAN CODE The Rules One must stay loyal to one's clan.
One must not leave one's clan in time of trouble.
One must not betray one's clan.
One must protect one's clan with their life.
One must be a free NEKO - no ownership allowed.
One must be old enough to fight.
One must follow all alpha orders.
One must gather food and water for the ill/weak before eating themselves.
One must stay out of other clan territory.
One must use one's power carefully.
