There were always things that Aaron would never understand. There were things about life itself that he didn’t get, but dealt with, right? Didn’t everybody? There were just certain things people had to put up with a deal with, right? Or was it just Aaron? Did everyone else have these problems with people and society? He imagined they had to of…right? There had to be other people who didn’t like the society they lived in and all the mistreatment of it…right? He didn’t want to think about any of this right now. He didn’t want to focus on anything but getting home and finding his family again. He let out a small sigh as the boy rested his chin on his head for a moment, before pulling away, and Aaron gently took a step back, tail curling up into his hands to keep them busy. Aaron gently shook his head back and forth.
“Y-you don’t owe me anything. I wanted to help you. I didn’t want anything for it. So please, you don’t owe me anything.” He gave a small timid smile before looking around a little. He didn’t really know where they were, but he was sure he could get out of here if he had to. That’s when a question bubbled out to his lips before he even had a chance to register it in his mind.
“Do you have someplace to stay? You can stay with me if you’d like. It would be fine with my parents.” He gave the boy named Fool a larger smile, gently allowing his feet to turn in towards themselves ever so small.
“Want me to help you get out of here? I think I know how to go.” He moved over next to the boy, letting his head peak out of the foliage a little before looking back over to him with the same timid smile.
Aaron made it his mission to ensure this boy would be safe and happy.
And now it was set in stone.

e v i l c o m e n o t n e a rR A I N B O W L O V E AW A I T S U Swi t h h e a r t s o f l o v e a n d t e a r s-------------- Fool had long been an untrusting NEKO who was shy and scared of the world. He had long been one to doubt himself and the world around him. This was what led him to worriedly fidget as Aaron said things about something so intimate as a home. Fool had never been invited to someone’s house, not that he remembered, anyway. For that matter, the NEKO remembered no more than a lamp and a desk and a computer of his own house. And the wall behind the desk. It was either blue or green, and had those little bumps on it. The dark and light haired NEKO felt his cheeks reddening at the thought of meeting Aaron’s parents, or seeing his home in depth for that matter. Gosh. What if they didn’t like him? What if he messed up somehow? Why are you freaking out? he asked himself, Calm down. A level head will get you very, very far in the world. Heh. He nervously raised a hand to his lips and drew his tongue over it. After quivering for a moment, he took a large breath and nodded at Aaron. “I’d love to. And I think I’d get lost without help. I honestly don’t remember much before the mill and it would be wonderful to have a stable place to stay for a little while before I move on.” Fool looked away. “If it wouldn’t be too much of a burden or anything.” He slowly made himself stop the tenseness in his muscles

Aaron couldn’t help but smile as he watched the boy across from him. He saw his cheeks blush ever so small when he mentioned his parents, and a fleeting giggle made its way through Aaron’s mouth as he did. He nodded to the boy; he was glad the boy had agreed to come with him, because he really didn’t want to leave Fool out in the open after being in the mill for so long. He smiled gently at the boy; it was a smile of compassion and sincerity.
“Of course not!” He told the boy, it would be no trouble at all. Aaron moved forward a little, giving the boy the softest and most timid hug he could muster up, showing him he wasn’t here to hurt him before moving to look around the foliage again. It was dark now, and Aaron was going to take as many precautions as he needed to make sure the boy stayed with him, happy and well. He let his hand fall into Fool’s before gently pulling him out of their little spot and into the dense forest.
“Stay close to me, I’ll make us light.” He gave the boy’s hand a small squeeze before placing his free hand into the air just in front of his face, allowing it to light up and illuminate for them as he pulled the boy throughout the forest. It wasn’t hard for Aaron to find his way out; he knew the land very well. He recognized trees and bushes from when he used to venture out here as a kid. He kept his grip on Fool stern but gentle, as to tell him he was here but he still wasn’t a threat. It only took about ten minutes for Aaron to find his way out of the forest and into the town. It was an odd part of town they had stumbled into. There were stores around and what look like a mall, and so instinctively Aaron kept his hand in Fool’s before turning them and moving towards the direction of his house.
“My house should be this way…don’t worry, we’ll be home soon.” He turned to the boy, giving him a larger smile than before, yet still a timid one, before continuing to walk.
There was no way he would ever allow harm to come to this boy.
He just…couldn’t.

He could trust Aaron, right? Then why not trust his touch as well? After all, Aaron was a NEKO, so he’d probably been treated just as badly as Fool. This was really complex, he decided, and he wasn’t going to deal with all this uncertainty now. Still, the city scared Fool a bit. Everything was… it wasn’t regulated like in the Mill. He could see that from a few glances around. And no regulation meant one thing; a threat to Fool’s immediate well being. For the first time in years, the NEKO encouraged a touch, holding on a bit tighter to Aaron’s hand. He shivered at the city and decided that Aaron would be scared if there was anything to be scared of. After all, trust meant believing it when someone wasn’t scared, it meant that even if he was scared he should buck up and realize that Aaron had his back, and that he could cover Aaron if it was needed. Yes, he decided, he’d protect Aaron with his life if needed, because since that time when Aaron had made the choice to save Fool’s life, said life had been put in debt to him. “What’re your parents like? Can you be sure they’ll like me? Or you for that matter, you haven’t spoken to them since you were turned into a NEKO, have you?” the wave of questions just kind of came from Fool’s mouth without prompt, “Oh gosh. Sorry, I’m just nervous.”

Aaron felt the boy jump a little from his touch and couldn’t help but frown. He wanted Fool to feel safe with him, he didn’t want him to be afraid. Though…part of him couldn’t blame the boy. After being locked up inside that hell of a mill…who knows what could happen to you. He wasn’t surprised that the boy was jumpy of frightened in the least bit; it was natural, but all Aaron could hope was that he didn’t always feel like this, and eventually he would be happy with the boy. Though, when they were walking in town, he felt Fool squeeze his hand. He knew the boy must have been afraid, but…but he didn’t want him to be. He squeezed in return as they walked down the street, before he heard a list of questions. He smiled warmly, turning to the boy.
“Mom is really sweet and kind. Dad is kind of strict, but not really. Sister is young, naïve, and the nicest thing you’ll ever meet. They will like you, don’t worry. They like anyone who is important to me, and you are important to me. No, I haven’t talked to them…but I know they’ll be okay with me. They were okay with me when I told them I was gay, so why shouldn’t they be okay with this?” He let a small grin slip onto his features as they continued to walk, before hearing the boy apologize. He shook his head back and forth quickly, gently poking the boy in the side with a small giggle.
“Don’t worry, I would be nervous too…but don’t be sorry, it’s fine, really, just try and relax and know I’ll be here the whole time, and I won’t leave your side if you don’t want me to.” He thought to himself for a moment before giving the boy’s hand another squeeze at the same time his next statement left his mouth.
“And I won’t drop your hand either until you’re all right.” He knew what it was like to feel alone. He knew what it was like to feel abandoned, and hell, he would never let this boy feel abandoned and alone in his own home. He found their house in a matter of minutes actually and a wave of nostalgia rushed through him. He felt tears welling and pricking at the corner of his eyes, before he brushed them away, stopping just beyond his drive way. He turned to the boy for a short moment, looking up at him.
“All right. This is the house. Don’t worry, everything will be fine…and remember I’m here too.” He gave a reassuring smile before gently walking to the door with Fool, ringing the bell and waiting for a moment.
A shock rolled through him when his mother answered the door. She looked at him for a moment as she was about to speak, before her mouth froze open and her eyes widened. Aaron quickly opened his mouth as well, but before he could even speak or do anything, his mother had grabbed him, and Fool, and quickly pulled them into a death defying hug. Aaron gave Fool’s hand a soft squeeze as she held onto them, crying into Aaron’s shoulder. He let his hand move to pat her back gently, making soft shushing noises.
It took a few minutes for his mother to regain herself before she let them both inside. She shut and locked the door before beginning to talk.
“Oh Aaron, we have missed you so much. Your friend is staying with us too, by the way. I take it your brought him here since you always did that with people you felt the need to take care of. Both of you can stay in your room since your sisters bed is still there. Dinner will be done soon and you both can come down to eat, but for now, take him upstairs to wash up and get new clothes on. Dad will be home soon as well.” Aaron couldn’t help but blush from his mothers’ words, but before he even had a chance to talk, she had disappeared into the kitchen like she used to. Aaron sighed small to himself before looking at Fool, still latched onto his hand.
“Sorry she seems informal…she’s just overwhelmed. C’mon, let’s go get cleaned up.” He gently pulled the boy upstairs with him before walking into his room. That was when he let his hand go before looking to the boy.
“So, what do you like to wear? I think I have stuff my dad gave me that will fit you.” He smiled before frowning small, moving onto his tippy toes and pushing some hair out of the other male’s face, smiling and tilting his head to the side once finished.
“Then we can freshen up in the bathroom as well. You can shower too if you’d like, I have everything you need in here.” There was the warm smile again, before Aaron stopped talking and waited for an answer.
He was intent on making sure this boy was okay.
And he wouldn’t stop until he knew he was.

e v i l c o m e n o t n e a rR A I N B O W L O V E AW A I T S U Swi t h h e a r t s o f l o v e a n d t e a r s-------------- Fool blinked and recoiled a bit into Aaron as his overly zealous mother acted… motherly. Something about that made him want to go find his own parents. If they were still alive. If they still cared. He leaned into Aaron, suddenly very tired. He wondered vaguely what Aaron had meant by gay earlier, because in the back of Fool’s mind, it meant something that had to do with that fuzzy warmth just below the diaphragm that Fool was starting to develop, and that was starting to bubble and grow inside him, so it might mean that this touch was okay. Right? He was asked what he wanted to wear but he couldn’t think of ever really choosing what he would wear; his mother, he remembered vaguely, had always told him what he could or couldn’t. He shrugged and pressed a hand to his lower lip, sighing. “I don’t really care about what I wear, I’ve never really… chosen what I wear,” Fool said quietly, catching the hand that had pushed his bangs from his face and squeezing it for comfort in this odd place and twining his fingers with it. “And I’d like to clean the wound in my hand if that’s alright.” Fool smiled at Aaron’s smile, little bubbles of happiness popping in his heart. Gosh that was odd. Though he had realized before that happiness made him happy, this was even more… intense. He shook his head. Best not to think about it too much. He let his smile grow and gave a friendly little laugh. Not that he’d let it get past that.

It was funny the amount of happiness that ran through Aaron’s body when Fool smiled and laughed. It meant he was doing all right. It meant he was finally get relaxed enough to be all right. When the boy grabbed Aaron’s hand, he felt his cheeks heat up to a bright red as their fingers were gently intertwined and pushed through each other. He smiled larger when the boy seemed to smile though, and he nodded small.
“O-okay. Let’s go clean it then.” He smiled before putting their hands to their side, still gripping the boy’s in his before walking out of their room and towards the large bathroom at the end of the hall. He walked into the large room and gently shut the door. It was all a nice shade of beige that seemed to work very nicely. Directly in front of them was a large tub with a shower on the side. On their right was a toilet and cabinets next to it, with some candles lit on a couple of shelves above it. On the left was the large sink and more cabinets, which Aaron gently pulled Fool towards. He turned the water on so it was cold, gently taking Fool’s hand in both of his own. He let his two thumbs gently caress the side of the scar with a small frown.
“Okay…the water is cold…it might hurt…a little bit…” He let his teeth rake over his bottom lip, gnawing at it till it was raw. He gently let Fool’s injury fall under the cold water. He made sure the stream was gentle and didn’t hurt him, but after a few moments he pulled the hand out quickly.
“Sorry, sorry! Here, let’s put some cream on it now.” He apologized quickly, getting out the cream he needed. He let his head gently fall onto the boy’s arm, since he was much taller, and he hummed a small tune as he worked. He let the cream gently move onto his index and middle finger, and he ran it so delicately over Fool’s scar, it was like an angel wing was brushing against him. In a matter of moments the cream was all spread out and Aaron gently lifted his head off the boy’s arm, getting out a large bandage and spreading it oh-so carefully across the wound, placing it down and smoothing it out slowly. He looked to the boy for a moment.
“Is it all right? Are you in pain? He gave him concerned eyes before adding a next sentence.
“Here, let me hold your hand for a moment.” He gently took Fool’s hand in his own, turned to face him and placed his right hand atop Fool’s and his left underneath it. In a small second their hands were illuminating a bright light as it gently warmed Fool’s skin, letting the warmth from the light gently move throughout his body, if Aaron was doing it right. After a minute or so he let go, turning Fool’s hand so his palm was facing up, running his fingers delicately by the wound and over his fingers as well. He looked back up to the male for a moment with a look of concern.
“Better? And that one piece is going to annoy me very much…” He said as he moved onto his toes once more, using his right hand to cup the boy’s cheek for a moment as he fixed his bangs, letting them fall delicately to the side instead of in front of his eyes. He pulled away with another tender smile.
He seemed to be doing okay right now.
He hoped it remained like that.

e v i l c o m e n o t n e a rR A I N B O W L O V E AW A I T S U Swi t h h e a r t s o f l o v e a n d t e a r s-------------- Fool nearly laughed at Aaron’s uncertainty. The cackling in his head, though, was far too loud for him to let himself laugh again. His inner constitution was getting weak, and he didn’t know how he’d hold on if he began laughing with fool. He really didn’t want to black out in front of Aaron; he had the feeling something very bad would happen if he did. Something bad usually did happen when Joker came out, and Fool really didn’t want to hurt Aaron at all, even verbally. Pain. Not for everyone, Fool decided, though he’d found his own pleasure in the wailing response nerves gave to it. And this pain that Aaron was inflicting at the moment wasn’t nearly as bad as a good deal of pain Fool had gone through at the Mill. “Stop worrying,” he said simply, leaning into Aaron’s hand just before he pulled it away, “This is the best day I can remember in my entire life. I’m free again. A little pain to help my wounds won’t mess it up, I promise.” He leaned over and brushed his lips to Aaron’s forehead, like his mother had done when he was upset. He reached out a gentle hand and placed it on Aaron’s shoulder, trying to make sure that the other NEKO wouldn’t shy away or continue to worry. “I trust you,” Fool said, fully aware of the risk he was taking telling Aaron this, “You saved my life, and I doubt you’re going to hurt me now. I-it’s not as if you’d just throw away your work like that, I know you better than that. Well… maybe. I mean, I haven’t known you long, but you’re close to me I guess. And I’m rambling. Gosh I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it to come out all clunky and long and nasty like this, but I trust you more than anyone right now, alright?” The multicolor haired NEKO smiled at Aaron and tried to suppress the cackling in his head so he could enjoy the moment of having all of his cards on the table.

Aaron felt some type of heat, flood over him, when Fool began to talk. IT wasn’t a normal heat…it wasn’t like he was going to start sweating…no, it was something…something different. He could feel himself blushing deeper and deeper as the seconds rolled by, as the boy kept talking; and the kiss. The feeling of such soft, plush lips against his forehead made him go insane. He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t know how to act. He was barely able to stumble a response out once again.
“I-I’m g-glad…you f-feel that w-way…” Aaron didn’t know why he was having so much trouble looking to the boy’s eyes, he just kept staring at his lips. The rosy lips that had been on his skin just a second ago. The soft lips which he wanted to feel again. But he knew he couldn’t…but for some reason he felt his body leaning in. He didn’t really know what was going on, he really didn’t know what he was doing, but he was speaking up in small voice.
“N-no…c-come back…p-please…” And then his index finger and thumb delicately brought the boy’s chin and face down as he pushed up, and their lips connected in such a delicate formation; feeling like the softest brush from an angel wing, the fluttering feeling caressing through him like he was the happiest person on the earth. But then there was fear. He felt his face heat up brighter than before, and before he knew what else he was doing, he pulled away from the male, his face the brightest shade of red possible. His lips were trembling; aching for the boy’s back, but he knew he couldn’t. Fool’s hand was still on his shoulder, and he didn’t want to move and so he pushed another sentence out.
“A-ah I-I’m s-sorry…I d-didn’t mean to…d-do that…s-sorry.” He nodded small and felt his teeth rake into his bottom lip as he averted his eyes.
He just wanted the boy to be closer to him again.

That bubble of warmth in his stomach grew, as if about to pop, but instead its swell just continued pulsating like waves on a shore and Fool felt like he was going to lose his mind. The cackling turned to taunting giggles and the depression of Joker taking over started to creep into Fool’s mind, but he wouldn’t let it. He refused to let Joker take over, and with all his will he fought it off. It still lingered, waiting to pounce, but Fool needed to prove to Joker that it was his body, no one else’s. “N-no. It’s-s alright, I liked it,” Fool said, doing his best to sound happy, and doing pretty well considering acting was not by far his strong point. He leaned over to give Aaron a light kiss in return, trying his best not to let anything go to his head and stay completely blank up there. That was probably not the best decision. After pulling away, cheeks still flaming, Fool felt the dizzying depression, the bright lights beneath his eyelids, and the cruel, burbling laughter filled his head and his throat and the air around him. And Fool gave way to Joker, who smiled condescendingly down at Aaron. I’m a fool, a complete and utter fool, the body’s rightful owner thought as he swirled into oblivion. This just made Joker cackle louder.
