THE OUTSIDE
[/size]APPEARANCE:
To put it simply, Evelyn looks like a girl. He admits it. He also admits that he really, really likes crossdressing just for the sake of screwing with society. So a lot of the time he’s crossdressing, and is doing pretty damn good at it too. He stands at 5’6” and weighs in at 117 lbs, and has long blonde hair that he’ll sometimes dye black in places. James’ eyes are green and usually outlined pretty thick in eyeliner, and he loves makeup, so he’ll rarely be seen without it.
ABILITIES:
Evelyn is not only known as a boy genius and an astounding scientist, but also as one of those crazy geniuses that is almost too smart for their own good and is a little weird in the head because of it. Still, he does have skills that aren’t directly related to the sciences. Firstly, he really likes tying knots of just about any kind, and secondly, he’s a master with (feminine) clothing and makeup. Plus any kind of asking for advice from him strokes his ego, so he’d be happy to help.

PERSONALITY:
Evelyn is incredibly intelligent, but that also does mean that he has some problems fitting in. Besides that, he acts one of three ways. The first way is the one he uses at work. It’s his reserved act, the one that’s all quiet intelligence and analysis. He dislikes impracticalities and frivolities and will always get things done as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you asked him to tell you in one sentence who he was, he would simply answer ‘Nobody.’ He keeps himself very much in check, and makes sure his ego doesn’t get in his way.
Then there’s the way he acts when he’s not working and not responsible for anything. He lets loose and lets his ego out, and pretty much lets himself do anything as long as it doesn’t have negative effects in the long run; this is the manifestation of Evelyn’s youth. He hangs around parties and doesn’t think quite as in-depth about situations. This is generally the way Evelyn is happiest because he lets himself be happiest here.
Finally there is the way Evelyn acts around NEKO and other interesting anomalies. Now, he has an interesting take on NEKO compared to other Oblivion Twelve employees. He finds them very, very intriguing and foreign. While he does look down on them a bit, he also has a fascination with them that makes him want to be near them and study them constantly. He’s more affectionate around NEKO, even while performing experiments that will probably injure them forever, and he’ll always comfort them if they come to him. Not that any of them really trust him, and they have good reason not to; he is one of the people who has tortured them so terribly.
HISTORY: Evelyn was born on the twenty third of June to the rich Mr. and Mrs. Trancy in London, England (it was a mild day, or so he likes to note, mostly to imply he has a mild personality). He lived there until he was three, when his parents moved to America for reasons he never quite comprehended. Evelyn grew up knowing two very important things about himself that he didn’t tell anyone about until his tenth birthday; firstly that he was extremely smart (to the point where he would easily surpass his peers after only a little while) and secondly that he was gay(not that he knew the terminology, he was pretty young) and would love to try dressing like a girl.
On his tenth birthday, he asked for one present from his parents. That was for them to listen to him because he knew he had to tell them both of those things. His mother reacted well; she was very proud of her son being so intelligent and she was an open minded individual. Mr. Trancy, though, immediately decided Evelyn could not be any son of his if he was going to be gay.
That was most likely when Evelyn’s life really changed. His childhood ended then, when he learned that telling the truth had ruined his family forever and that sometimes it was best to lie. His mother and his father fought a lot over him after his ‘outburst’ as they started calling it.
Evelyn was eleven when the divorce happened. He understood fully at the time that he had ruined his parents’ marriage and that he deserved punishment, but he was scared to death of ever living with his father (who had taken to using anything as an excuse to insult his son) so he chose a different punishment for himself. He and his mother became a single parent-single child family after that.
He abandoned his youth and took to studying. That was the year he was officially called a genius, and that he breezed through his sixth grade year with all As. After studying all summer, he skipped seventh grade and moved onto eighth. At that point, Evelyn’s mother pulled him out of school and let him take a break to study for the GED because she didn’t want to put him through high school for reasons she never explained.
At fifteen, Evelyn reached High School equivalency and moved on to take some college science classes on those odd, intriguing creatures called NEKO.
A bit after Evelyn’s seventeenth birthday, two things happened. First was that his mother died. She was in a bad car accident, went into a coma, and in the end, couldn’t be saved. This sent his life into some sort of cruel downward spiral; he was sent to live with a father who hated the notion of having a gay son and was constantly looked at oddly because of the inheritance he’d gain when he reached eighteen. The second thing, however, was more positive. He was scouted as one of Oblivion Twelve’s scientists.
Evelyn withstood that torturous year that he had to live with his father, though he didn’t escape without some scars and bruises and a mangled self-image. At eighteen he inherited almost all of his mother’s money, and moved out.
Nothing big has happened since then, just Evelyn’s promotion to head scientist and him letting himself loose a little more, after all, he is still young. Whether he’s a child or not.
