THE OUTSIDE
APPEARANCE: Like other neko, Aster is quite short and slim, only standing at a mere five feet and six inches and weighing only ninety pounds. His clothing style is simple - jeans and t-shirts that are quite scruffy and worn with holes in them. Most of the colours are washed out and the material has various stains and even some burn marks. Aster keeps his hair short since it's easier to wash and dry; much more efficient than long hair. It has no particular style, though it does often like to stick up due to the static in the air around him which can be a pain, but he often just leaves it.
ABILITIES: Just your general thunder mutation abilities, e.g. shooting lightning bolts (electrical arcs if you want to use the proper term for visible electricity stuff) from his hands because he's cool like that. Though, this seems to be the only ability from his thunder mutation that he has in working order. Control over technology and electrical objects is something he never had been able to get the hang of, instead he simply fried them or nothing happened at all. Aster prefers to just use his destructive lightning bolts.
MUTATION: Thunder

PERSONALITY: A loner at heart, Aster will avoid crowds and people at all costs. They make him feel incredibly nervous as he has no idea how to interact with people at all so he just goes with his instincts: attack, run or activate smartass mode. Unfortunately, the smartass comments that he so loves to dole out to people can often get him in trouble and a fight is something Aster will not back down from despite having almost no physical strength and the reflexes of a sloth. This doesn't deter or stop him from starting arguments and fights with people. He feels as though he cannot get close to people so Aster tries to put them all as far away as he can, where they can't hurt him.
The reason he is the way he is, is because instead of eating proper food, he tends to drink a hell of a lot of alcohol which makes him more bitter than he usually is towards people. Most would say he's an alcoholic and Aster would say so too but he isn't willing to change his ways. The alcohol helps drown out his past and makes him feel much more confident. The confidence is all because of his alcohol consumption, in reality he's a nervous wreck who is afraid of being hurt. No-one knows this due to the fact he almost always has some alcohol in his system - even small amounts that aren't really enough to get him drunk give him false confidence and fearlessness.
His temper isn't too great, though this generally is not much of a problem for other people because when Aster gets angry, it's like a mouse attacking a lion... it just doesn't work. Almost anything can annoy him, from an arrogant human to a cowardice neko, he is very easily angered. If he even senses a hint of someone thinking they're superior to him or someone he likes or his species, Aster will go batshit on them. To calm him down if his tantrum is becoming tiresome, just give him a bottle of wine and he'll happily drink that until he either passes out or is so wasted that he simply speaks nonsense.
HISTORY: Born sixteen years ago to normal and human parents, they never imagined that their first born would be one of the many unfortunate children to be taken away to be genetically modified in a 'freak of nature'. Before he was taken away from them, Aster lived a relatively comfortable lifestyle quite far away from society in the countryside. His parents owned a small farm with farm animals that he loved from a young age. They grew a variety of vegetables of which they used in their cooking and ate daily and to make money, they sold them to local supermarkets. It was a simple but comfortable lifestyle and the family was incredibly happy. It seemed like the perfect life any household would want to have.
Until one day when Aster had reached the age of six
Some time later, he woke up with no idea where he was or even what day it was. Something felt different though he couldn't pinpoint what exactly it was, so he ignored it. The place was full of... 'weirdos'. There was no other way for him to describe it. It was at that moment he felt something move behind him. The thing that moved was an extension of him, like an arm or leg. Slowly, he felt with his hand and brought the random limb around to see what it was. That was when everything blacked out again and he woke up later in a cell, remembering he had a tail. He felt his head for ears, and there they were.
For a couple of years, he lived in the mill, receiving beatings and being tested on, which made the once happy-go-lucky child become nervous and bitter, flinching at almost every movement. Everyday he looked for ways to escape, but there weren't any. Now at eight years old, his body was slight and there was no way Aster could overpower any of the scientists or guards there. Life seemed pointless and dark. Soon enough, emotion was too much to bare so it switched off, leaving him as a cold and emotionless being, alive on the outside, dead on the inside. An empty shell, so to speak.
Although, things were beginning to change. Life sparked in him as soon as he realised that he had not been experimented on in quite a while. What was going on? Were they planning to kill him... or set him free? Having no idea, Aster decided to just be happy that he wasn't being injected with chemicals that did horrible things to his body. He knew other neko, as the scientists called them, were subject to worse treatment than he usually was because they caused trouble. Aster had learned not to do this early on and simply did as he was told, but this new spark of life made him feel more independent and like a person again. Soon enough, he found out the reason that things had changed and he believed that he had found the light at the end of his dark tunnel.
How wrong he was... this was something he realised the minute he got to his new home and was dumped onto the floor and told to clean it. They gave him a toothbrush and a bucket of soapy water that was lukewarm. He tried to be positive, but he could feel himself cracking. This was better than the mill, right? Aster knew he had to stay positive or he was going to go insane. All that afternoon on his first day in his new home, the floors were cleaned in every room and when he'd finished that, he had to go and attempt to chop firewood. That didn't work out so well due to his lack of strength. He was then subject to being beaten once again, but by different people. It was then he realised that his tunnel light had gone out.
The treatment of him from the man and woman of the house he could handle. He had learned to respect them; they did feed and clothe him after all, even if they did also hit and kick him if they felt he did something wrong or were simply angry due to their strained marriage. Their children, however, were calculating and cruel, like most children. Of course, being brought up by their parents, they did not see Aster as another person, they simply saw him as a toy that they could play with. The girl wasn't so bad, she'd occasionally hit him if he refused to dress in her clothes but he could handle that. Her younger brother though, was much worse, to everything and everyone he could get his hands on, even his own sister.
At first, Aster simply tried to avoid the sadistic child but he always somehow found him. The child always had a new 'game' to play, something that involved seeing how much pressure it took for a pair of pliers to break fingers, or seeing how many cuts and bruises were sustained from being pushed down the stairs over and over again. Of course, if Aster refused to do these horrible little games, the stupid child would go off screaming to his parents who would then severely punish the neko for upsetting their 'dear child'. It made Aster sick to the stomach that he had to work for these people. They were cruel, sick and twisted and quite obviously drunk with the power they held over another being.
One day, when Aster was told to clean the children's play room, he went in to find toys everywhere which was quite normal. One by one, he picked them up and put them away into their respective boxes until he noticed a plastic tub full of water. He went over and peered into it, wondering why it was there. There were a few toy boats in it which he began to pick out when he felt something push down on the back of his head and suddenly his face was underwater and he couldn't breath. Desperately, Aster attempted to push himself out of the water but he wasn't strong enough. Water was splashing everywhere, over both Aster and the child but neither cared. Both were against the other and that's when Aster heard the crackling in the air and his body was soon in pain. It felt as though he was being electrically shocked.
What happened next was unbelievable. The pressure on the back of his head was suddenly gone, as was the burning pain of being electrically shocked all over. He got up, soaked to the bone, shivering and slowly turned around to see what was going to happen to him next... but to his happiness, there the child was, on the ground with various burn marks on his body. Aster crouched down next to the body, wondering what had happened. The child was still shallowly breathing so obviously he was alive, but Aster knew he had to get out of there or was he was dead, one way or another. He ran to the front door which was unlocked, but had a code to get in and out. Aster had no idea what the code was, but the second he lifted his hand up to the machine, a small 'zap' of electricity came from his hand and destroyed the device. The door opened.
Now, at the age of sixteen, Aster is a thief who lives close to the streets, in the trees to keep hidden from humans. Alcohol keeps him sane and functioning enough to be able to interact with people to get what he wants and survive. He became efficient at stealing food and drinks from supermarkets, especially with his ability. While he could never figure out how to manipulate technology, he could definitely just destroy it with a lightning bolt. He hopes to never be found by that family, or by anyone who happens to take an interest in him. Aster is currently trying to just get through life and survive.

THE PLAYER
NAME/ALIAS: Lee
AGE: Fifteen
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN RPING? I dunno. Years.
HOW DID YOU FIND US? Blame Akio.
RP SAMPLE: It was cold and dark; the cruel wind that rustled through the trees further decreased the temperature. The whistle from far above was ominous and eerie, creating an atmosphere of dread for the small neko which sat below the trees. It felt as though the trees were trying to speak to him; foreshadow a coming event that was unstoppable, like the wind and the whistling. Taking another long gulp from the bottle in his hand, his head lulled back against the tree; his eyes slowly blinked as though he was about to fall asleep... or pass out. The bottle was almost empty, only the dregs were left at the bottom.
"I can't believe this is my life..." he slurred to himself. "Aster Birne, everyone; alcohol cat-human freak breed of nature." Slowly, his hand touched the floor in a weak attempt to push himself up, but of course it just wasn't happening. Shrugging, the bottle was automatically brought to his lips and the dregs were downed in one. He groaned, his eyes lulling back into his head, then violently threw up onto the ground and upon himself. Violently shivering from the cold, he slowly wiped any leftover vomit away from his mouth. The floor was where he knew he would be sleeping tonight, next to his pool of vomit and under the trees which would be judging him if they could.
(yeah okay that's short, I can usually do more but I just wrote eleven paragraphs of history and it's 1am)
